The databases were constantly consulted, looking for data on Ana María Guzmán and her projection at Bayern Munich, the club that signed her after her spectacular World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The search is now postponed, apparently for several months, as it is confirmed that she will not be available for a long period of time.
The sad news came directly from Munich: “Ana María Guzmán suffered a knee injury during the last international break with the Colombian team and has now had a successful operation,” says the Bayern statement, which directly points to the tricolor.
”Painful diagnosis for Ana María Guzmán: The FC Bayern player suffered an injury to the cartilage in her right knee during training with the Colombian national team during the last international break. The 18-year-old underwent successful surgery on Friday and will soon “Rehabilitation will begin. Guzmán will be away from FC Bayern Women for several months,” adds the official text.
The club refers to the FIFA date from October 26 to 29 against the United States, in which the defender was a substitute in the first game (0-0) and played the last 16 minutes of the second (3-0 loss).
Ana María will miss the friendly duels of the Colombian National Team against New Zealand in Bogotá, which will serve as preparation for the Paris Olympic Games, on December 2-5. The good thing is that she has time, fortunately, for that great national challenge on French territory, the bad thing is that her desire to shine in the Bayern of her dreams will have to wait.
