Talbott Brothers Coming to Kearney
The Talbott Brothers, a music group composed of two brothers, Nick and Tyler Talbott, are coming to Kearney on Nov. 8 to perform a show at the Merryman Performing Arts Center. This show will kick off the tour for their brand new album Gray. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. and is free to students if they bring their school ID, and admission for the general public is a food pantry donation. You can RSVP for a seat in the show from their website thetalbottbrothers.com/tour/. This will bring you to the tour schedule, and you can click on the links from there to claim your ticket! KHS students can also see Mr. Moyer to get advance tickets.
They will be performing a mix of old and new music, and possibly even playing a few unreleased songs. Their style of mixed genres includes influences of rock, blood harmony and storytelling. Their wide variety of influence stems from all of the different types of music that the brothers listen to and are inspired by.
It is suiting that they would come to Kearney, NE, to start their adventure because it is where their music career started in the first place. They started playing gigs in coffee shops and bars around town like Cunningham’s and Tru Cafe beginning in 2012. Their love of music started in music classes throughout school and learning to play their Dad’s old guitar.
Once their music career started taking off they made the move to Portland, OR, in order to take advantage of some business opportunities there. Now, as they are a successful duet with a new album, they are coming back to their roots to perform it in the old roost. Nick Talbott even stated that he was excited to come back, if not a little bit nervous to perform in front of his original supportive community. With the combination of community support, amazing music, and interesting people, Nov. 8 should be a great night for a performance.
