Want to go somewhere warm for the holidays? Arizona is a great state to visit during this season. The temperature stays around 70-80 degrees, so it doesn’t get very hot. While in Arizona, there are many things to do. A festival called Glendale Glitters takes place in Glendale, Arizona. This kicks off Fri., Nov. 23 and Sat., Nov. 24, 2018, which is known as Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend and lasts until Jan. 6, 2019.
Glendale Glitters is an award-winning festival and is loved by families because there are activities for all ages. Visitors can experience holiday entertainment, delicious food, handmade gifts, children’s snow field and petting zoo, shopping, and of course, Santa Clause. The light display has become a huge family tradition throughout the years as it has improved stunningly. This illuminates 16 blocks of downtown Glendale and consists of 1.6 million LED lights. It is the largest and free holiday light display in all of Arizona. This year they will be celebrating their 25th year anniversary of the lights. It remains lit through Jan. 12, 2019. The holiday festivities continue into what’s called Glendale Glitters Holiday Weekend, which is Dec. 14 and 15, 2018.
If you are visiting downtown Glendale on a non-festival night, don’t worry. There’s still so much you and your family or friends can do. Take a photo under all of the lights or even take a horse-drawn carriage through the Catlin Court Historic District.
