Girls cross country finishes second at Kearney High invite

The Kearney High Girls Cross Country team had their second invite of the season as they hosted the Kearney High Invitational on Friday, September 8th at the Meadowlark Hills Golf Course. Freshman Hannah Godwin finished 1st overall at the invite with a time of 20:10.70. Sophomore Grace Bonsall finished 4th with a time of 20:48.87. Seniors Paige Robinson and Abi Deloach each made contributions with Robinson finishing in 16th with a time of 23:06.73 and Deloach following closely behind in 17th with a time of 23:10.79.

Sophomore Kayla Poggioli finished in 18th with a time of 23:26.78 along with fellow sophomore Acacia Rivas who finished 21st with at time of 23:39.63. Freshman Emma Bond rounded out the team top 7 posting a time of 23:50.64.

The Bearcats finished in 2nd with a score of 56 trailing only Millard North who finished in 1st with an overall score of 39. Rounding out the top 3 was Lincoln Northeast who had a score of 79. The Girls will be back in action at the Lincoln High Invitational at Pioneer Park. The JV team will start it off at 3:30 with the Varsity running at 5:00.
