On Mon., Dec. 21, the KHS girls basketball started winter vacation with a game against Gretna. Kearney had the lead for a majority of the game, but Gretna had it when it mattered most. After a hard fought battle, the Bearcats fell 57-54.

The Bearcats had to be strong in the lane in order to make baskets. Leading the Bearcats offensively was senior Skyler Snider with 18 points. Following Snider, senior Lauren Speicher and junior Kelsey Clark added 10 points a piece. However, with only three Bearcats scoring double-digits, Kearney was unable to keep up with the Dragons’ offense.

KHS will compete in the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference on Mon., Dec. 28 against the North Platte Bulldogs.
