Phone battery flame

At approximately 1:35, a flame ignited in room 413.

At approximately 1:35 pm on Thurs., April 30, a flame ignited in room 413. The cause of the flame was a punctured phone battery. When a phone battery is punctured it releases lithium gas that then reacts with oxygen and creates a flame as well as lithium oxide gas. The discrete math class was then evacuated and paramedics were called.
