Bearcats finish 2nd of 12 teams

The Kearney High girls tennis team finished second in the 12-team set at Papillon-LaVista on Sat., Apr. 3. KHS racked up 62 points, which was just four short of winner Papillion-LaVista. Freshman Faith Kowalski won at No. 1 singles for the first time with an 8-1 win in the final. Juniors Josie Kratzenstein and Vanessa Bamesberger also had a 3-0 day and earned the No. 2 doubles title. Junior Hayley Limbach and sophomore Paige Bachkora earned more match victories than any Bearcats and finished fourth at No. 2 doubles. KHS will head to the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday May 10.
