Lady Cats pick up pace on their way to state

This game against Grand Island was a huge success for the Lady Cats with a 9-1 victory. Leading scorers were juniors Kelsey Stithem and Karlie O’Connell. Just two days later, the girls faced off against Lincoln Southeast, and the game ended as a 0-2 loss. Following within hours, the girls were opposed and defeated by Elkhorn, 1-2. Scoring the lone point was sophomore Hannah Sickler.

Clearly using the five-day break to their advantage, the ladies came back on April 22 with a win against North Platte, 2-1. Those scoring for the Lady Cats were sophomores Nicole Cepel and Jazy Miles. Two days later, the girls had some more good luck against Columbus coming out with a 3-0 win, with Cepel as the leading scorer with two points.

After another two-day rest, the girls came out on fire against Lincoln Northeast with a strong 10-0 win. Contributing to this score were Sickler, Stithem, Lundell and Wicht, along with many others. Carrying their passion into the second game of the day, the girls were able to pull out another 2-1 win against Lincoln East. Scoring the points were Cepel and senior Claire Sickler. The next time that the Lady Cats will be on the field is April 29 against the Hastings Tigers.
