Over the past few months, Kearney residents have been eagerly awaiting and observing the construction of the town’s newest attraction: Hy-Vee. Located on the corner of 52nd Street and 2nd Avenue in Kearney, Hy-Vee is a chain convenience store and gas station that offers many different products as well as food shops. The new Hy-Vee will include two restaurants, a sushi bar and both gelato and sandwich counters.
The store will bring over 400 jobs to Kearney, as well as business from surrounding towns. Not all is new at Hy-Vee; however, the man chosen as manager of the store is Kearney’s very own Bob Wilson, former owner of Bob’s Super Store.
With a variety of options from fresh seafood to an international cheese bar, this supermarket is unlike anything else found in Kearney. Scheduled to open on April 29, the store is sure to be a valuable asset to Kearney, bringing both jobs and business to the rapidly growing town.
